Hiccups first week
The Big Bear Grizzly U-Pick-em Football Challenge has taken on a new format. And when there is change, there are often bugs to work out.
If anyone has noticed, there were three games that said they were already played on Aug. 22. That was the first glitch. Those have been adjusted, so you can go in and edit your picks. The good news is that your picks aren't final until the entry period closes at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.
Second, if you answered the bonus question, there is no way you can get it wrong. We provided the answer. Apparently, it's supposed to be a multiple choice question, but we only provided one choice.
And third, the change in the tie-breaker includes the score of the bonus game. Not the total points of the game. You need to enter a score such as 20-1 not 21. The tie-breaker formula is based on the margin of error. The official scoring is as follows:
receive 100 points for each correct selection. Games canceled due to

Bonus Game prediction. Scoring is as follows: If you correctly predict
the winner (as indicated by the score you enter), you are awarded 100
addition, all players may earn up to 100 additional bonus points based
on how close their predicted score is to the final score of the game.
For example, if you predict a final score of 30-20 but the final score
is 37-25, you would earn 88 points (100 points minus the difference of
12 points you were incorrect), providing you selected the winning team.
No points will be awarded if the score is correct but the winner is
TiebreakerIf the given week ends in a tie, the player who submitted his playing ticket first will be named the winner.
The bonus question will not enter into the scenario, as we understand it, to break a tie.
All entries should be done online at pickem.bigbeargrizzly.net. Those who submit paper ballots must do so by 3 p.m. Pacific Time each Friday for the entry to be valid and count. The entry must include a valid email, as each entrant will be registered and a password emailed to you for future use. If the email bounces back or is not valid, the entry will not be counted.
We appreciate your patience this first week as we transition to the new format. And good luck.
